The Masters of Creation collective, born in France, now encompasses five high jewellery designers, including D’Joya and, more recently, Masterstrokes, whose principal – female – designer is inspired by Art Nouveau and whose pieces feature beautiful enamel work in that spirit, as international participants; a Swiss maker of fine watches, Dubey & Schadenbrand; and a gifted marquetry artist, Philippe Raymond.
Luc Cabrol, president of the collective, explains its vision: “every stone encompasses something special that brings us emotion. That is why Masters of Creation makes a point of respecting stones and refuses to work on gems that would need to be over transformed. This incredible and natural raw material is at the center of our vision”. Creators find in Masters of Creation a space to share and challenge ideas – a novel industry dynamic. The collective’s approach is radically focused on the creation of uniquely imaginative treasures over a mass commercial strategy. Cabrol remarks that “to create art, it is essential to respect the pure beauty of things.”
For the third time this year, Masters of Creation is showcasing a selection of works at the Top Marques luxury salon, in Monaco. From April 19 to 22 at Monaco’s beach-side Grimaldi Forum, guests and visitors will enjoy rarely seen high jewellery by D’Joya, Philippe Lauras, Masterstrokes and marquetry art by Philippe Raymond, whose moving works have featured over 100 varieties of wood sourced over decades of travelling across the world in search of the perfect tones and textures.
D’Joya is an international artistic high jewellery collective founded in 2008. All of its works are one-of-a-kind and tell a unique story inspired by art, culture, history and the human psyche. They usually combine a rare form of evocative semi-abstraction with world-class craftsmanship, which results in genuine artworks in high jewellery acquired privately by discerning patrons with equal measures of elegance and character.
Baku will be the next city to host a showcase of D’Joya’s works, with an invitation-only collective exhibition by the Caspian shore, where D’Joya will exhibit work alongside exceptional watchmakers and high jewellery designers, May 3-5.
